We owe a great debt to Richard Baines of Yorkshire Coast Nature for funding four kestrel nest boxes. These were put up in locations around Allerston, and we hope will encourage nesting of birds from next year. We are also very grateful to Richard Scullion for his help with installing the boxes, Graham and Caroline Sigsworth for coordinating the project, and Arthur Petty for providing ladders. Also to Margi Scorer, Ginny Ashford, the Sigsworths, and the Pettys for providing the habitat where the boxes will now live, and with any luck, provide some excellent homes for future kestrels.
