On a drizzly morning in June, we took over the Methodist Chapel. We had a phenomenal number of plants for sale, carefully grown by a good number of kind Allerston residents. There was everything from marjoram to monkey puzzle trees, cacti to chrysanthemums, leopards bane to lychnis coronaria. The cakes were equally impressive: Victoria sponges, scones, Viking fruit cake, whole orange and pistachio cakes, and more. Despite the weather, we raised a very impressive £286, with ongoing sales raising more outside West View. With many thanks to all who provided such a wealth of plants, baked some beautiful cakes, and to all who came and made some purchases.
